Playing for Team Canada isn’t an easy thing to do, especially since it lacks the funds to really treat its players like some other programs. Dalembert may be right and he may be wrong, but I mean the guy makes millions of dollars, plays a full 82 game schedule and wants to make sure he doesn’t get injured and ruin his livelihood.

For a guy who’s used to chartered flights, the best hotel rooms and private limos having a 2nd grade coach (I never DID like the way Leo talked to Chuck) berate him or say “you’re not pulling your weight” is definitely enough to make him say “screw this”.

Excusable? I’m not sure, but understandable? Maybe a little more.

I feel bad for the other guys on Team Canada who are busting their ass day in and day out. This kind of drama reflects poorly upon their effort. Leo, Sam – work it out!

Here is a guy that interviewed one of the Canada team captains who says it was a team decision and the coaches consulted the players. Barrett says that dalembert was a big distraction with off-the-court stuff and wasn’t giving his all like the other guys.

Is that a joke or are you for real? Andy Rautins played a total of 27 minutes the entire FIBA Tournament!! That was the 3rd lowest number of minutes on the ENTIRE team.

I hope you were being sarcastic. If not….check your facts first magne.

I love Dalembert too man, but so far i’m seeing Rautins handling this situation much more diplomatically in the press. He doesn’t want to air the dirty laundry. He seems to be just saying that it was a team decision, end of story.

Definite Diva! All of these rich athletes say they want to play for their country and then when it comes down to it, it’s just about image. They often aren’t willing to do what it takes to get the job done.

Canada clearly wouldn’t have booted their best player for no reason. C’mon they obviously wanted him to play real bad, he was their only shot at the Olympics.
