[...] Potential trade involving Zbo to Chicago fizzles Apparently there were some discussions between the New York Knicks GM Donnie Walsh and Chicago Bulls GM John Paxson yesterday that fizzled regarding a possible deal that would have sent the Knicks Kirk Hinrich and Drew Gooden in exchange for the Knicks Power Forward Zach Randolph. The talks however cooled when the Knicks requested that Ben Gordon by substituted in place of Kirk Hinrich in the deal. Although Gordon is a restricted free agent, the Knicks were hoping for a sign and trade. Apparently D’Antoni covets Ben Gordon for his deep range and excellent physical conditioning. Personally I feel that the Knicks may be better off with Hinrich in the potential deal, as it would solidify their point guard quandary, and act as insurance if they run into another year of the Marbury disappearing act. Although Hinrich had a slow start shooting the ball last year, he improved as the year progressed and by seasons end was once again the model of consistency that has defined his college and pro career to this point. please let me know immediately when this trade has been finanlized. do you think the bulls would want nate robinson too? since they’ll only have rose and deng at the point, if hinrich is not available to ny, and gordon and gooden are sent in a sign and trade.

Wow this would be nice! Gordon would be nice if he is willing to sign a reasonable contract to play for the home team! Gooden might be an added bonus if we do run?

I really do think we are fine at PG. Believe it or not Marbury is a good point guard who i think can really return to form under D’Antoni. He can get into the lane at will and is a solid passer. How bout the year before this past yr. He was BY FAR the best player on the team when jamal was hurt. For a solid few months he averaged about 20 and 7 a game. Gordon would be a better fit than heinrich. You cant honestly tell me Heinrich is a better pg than Marbury. Everyone is just tired of marbury’s antics but just like Jesus Shuttlesworth also from Coney Island, he got game,

Not sure where you heard this, but I don’t think John Paxson would do this deal. Randolph is not much better than Gooden and he is a troublemaker. Plus he loves Hinrich, as evidenced by the huge deal he gave him.

hinrich would be a better fit, they have to shore up their pg situation before they add shooters (have to be able to get the ball to the shooters right?).

randolph is really interesting for me. the guy is big, has great hands, is a bit of a nut case, but he plays hard when he’s on the court. maybe he just needs a tough coach (hasn’t had that really).

I really hope the Knicks get Gordon!! That would be so sweet. That guy can flat out shoot tha bomb!!

Randolph is way too sluggish to play with an up-tempo team. The Knicks better dump him fast!
