i agree totally, but he wont jeopardize the final year of his contract for a longer term one. i say this because he will get the same contract this year and he would get next year. in fact, he might get less this season because there are less teams with the space to offer him a multi year $10mill per.

he wont give up 10 mill to sign that contract this summer when he will get about the same next year.

what i do see him doing is getting injured all of a sudden again, and force mullin to move him. that is feasible.

what happened to bonzi wells, latrell sprewell and others is still ringing in these guys ears. you think his agent will let him do that?

Yeah, to the average person it would seem pretty stupid to leave millions on the table to resign for a lesser amount in a different city. But you have to remember these guys are already multi-millionaires and have very fragile ego’s at times.

If Baron was personally insulted by the lowball offer of Mullin, it may be enough to make him take the loss and walk. I hardly doubt he’ll be starvin’ either way.

i highly doubt Davis opts out of his contract. leaving that much money on the table is ‘bonzi well’s stupid. i would be surprised if he got another contract without some sort of incentive schedule in place.

No way the GSW can let Davis walk for nothing. If it gets close to June 30th and he is still holding strong saying he is going to leave, then Mullin should try to pull off some sort of sign and trade with a team that’s willing to pay him the money he’s seeking. Pay the man! He had a great year.
