Video: Gregg Popovich Plays A “Hack-a-Shaq” Joke On O’Neal

October 29, 2008 - Dr. Browntorious
The Hoop Doctor’s reported a few weeks ago about Shaquille O’Neal making comments after a Suns practice about Gregg Popovich being ‘a coward’ for using the now infamous “hack-a-shaq” (foul away from the ball to put Shaq on the free throw line) when the Spurs were up by 10+ points in the playoffs last year. Shaq also questioned NBA Commissioner David Stern and the league for not closing what many feel is a loophole or ‘grey area’ in the rules for foul infractions away from the ball.
Add these recent Shaq comments to the fact that the Suns and Spurs have had some very heated playoff battles over the last few years and you have a ton of tension heading into the season opener tonight for the Suns vs. the Spurs. Enter San Antonio Spurs Coach/Comedian Gregg Popovich:
Do you consider Gregg Popovich to be a funny guy? In the world of professional sports we don’t see enough joking around like this…..Check it out…

Where is the actual hack?…did he just tell the refs to call a foul? Because there was no actual foul on the play.
Nice sense of humor though.
