What’s Happening to The Celtics? They Just Can’t Get It Done.

What’s Happening to The Celtics? They Just Can’t Get It Done.

Many would have rooted for the Boston Celtics to rule the Eastern Conference at the start of the season. 20 games into the season, they are an average disappointment. For a team that had so much potential at the beginning, it is rather disappointing that they are now reeling at mid-table in the standings. The Celtics were expected to grab the Eastern Conference title for themselves after Lebron James left for the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Celtics have continued to squander their chances of clinching the Eastern Conference title over their last 20 games. They lost 113-104 to the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night. They are now back to .500 a quarter of the whole way across the regular season. Betting strategies providers such as Wettenerfahrungen.com must be confused with how things have turned out for Bolton Celtics as well.

Dismal Performance

Nobody expected the Boston Celtics to be floundering at 10-10 after 20 games. They were clear favorites of the Eastern conference title when the season started, with a wealth of incredible players, who had already proven their worth. Something just doesn’t seem right, and nobody knows that the problem is yet.

The offense’s urgency is lacking, and they don’t seem as lethal as they were supposed to be. It slacked on Saturday night, while that of the Mavericks was dishing out spectacular playmaking and shots. Luka Doncic, the Mavericks rookie, was quite impressive in particular.

The Celtics’ defense has always been one of the best in the league. Lately, it has not been as impressive as it has always been. The Mavericks offense was slicing through that defense with incredible ease. They knocked down 16 of 41 3-pointers. DeAndre Jordan was always strategically placed and was easily reachable for easy dunks.

Kyrie Irving, from whom much was expected, seems to be struggling, too. He was held to only 19 points within 24 field goal attempts in the game against the Mavericks.

Brad Stevens, the Celtics coach, admitted that the Mavericks were a bit too hot for them on Saturday night. He said, “They made a ton of effort plays, they got a bunch to the rim, and then we couldn’t contain the drive… those drives really hurt us. They turned the corner, laid it in, and had a couple of and-1s, lobs…those are just killers.”

The Celtics are now 7th place in the East standings. Many pundits have put them on the receiving end, as they have the capacity to produce a better performance. With too many of the off-guard moments lately, they have so far lost four of their five games. They have had only four wins in 12 games.

The wins have been against weaker teams like the Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls, and Atlanta Hawks. The win against Phoenix Suns was a last-minute lucky road comeback. The Celtics, though not completely awful, are a shadow of what many expected them to be right now. What could be the problem? It needs to be identified and solved soon enough before frustrations begin to grow.

What Could be The Issue?

In the past couple of seasons, Celtics have always been seen as the underdogs. The had to adjust to being the favorites with the return of Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward at the start of this season. Maybe they never adjusted. The feeling of people expecting too much from them might be overwhelming.

Fans expected a lot from a team that they believe has potential. That is the main bone of contention with the Celtics. Everyone seemed to believe they would be invincible this season.

On the other hand, it could have gotten to their heads that they were great before they even made it to the court. The key to unlocking the potential in this team seems to have been lost somewhere, and it needs to be found sooner rather than later.

Optimistic and Patient General Manager

The General manager of Boston Celtics, Danny Ainge, remains optimistic that things will get better. He said that he is not looking to make any changes.

“I’ve been through this many, many years, and I’m not impatient,” Ainge Said. He believes the team still has the potential to do better. He reckoned that the ups and downs of the team this season may be fueling some frustrations among the players though. He said he is still open to making moves, but it was complicated.

Apparently, in as much as the team is performing as per expectations. He likes some of the things he sees in the team this season and is planning to be patient with the players and allow them to find their form.

Things are Looking Up

It seems the President’s patience with the team might pay off after all. Bolton Celtics humbled Pelican 124-107 on Monday night, with a convincing performance. Marcus smart played in place of Jaylen Brown, alongside Kyrie Irving, AI Horford, Marcus Morris, and Jayson Tatum.

They got off to an early lead after a 10-0 run. The defense was a lot more impressive this time around. Kyrie Irving was particularly impressive on Monday night. He bagged 26-points and 10 assists within a three-pointer. Celtics produced one their most impressive performances of this season on Monday night.

The game against pelican has reminded many of what they imagined Celtics would be this season. It is a reason for Celtics fan to smile, but they cannot start celebrating yet. They are not out of the woods yet.

Boston Celtics have had a dismal performance for their first 20 games, given their potential and performances in previous seasons. They won their 21st game convincingly on Monday night. They need to continue with the same performance if they want to inspire confidence among fans and pundits.

They will go up against the Cavaliers in their next game on Saturday. The Cavaliers have not had an impressive season by any standards. If the Celtics can produce another stellar performance against the Cavaliers, it will be a great boost in confidence for the players. They could pull out a surprise by the end of the season if they have finally found the key to their potential.
