Dwyane Wade is nearing the end of his first-ballot hall of fame career that includes three NBA championships a Finals MVP and a scoring title.
He has said publicly that he wants to play for no other team besides the Miami Heat for the remainder of his career.
Does that restriction extend to international teams?
Wade is reportedly about to be offered a good-sized contract to play for a Chinese team:
“Zhejiang Golden Bulls? of the CBA offered a three-year, $25M contract to Dwyane Wade, as reported by Zhang Duo.”
That is more than he could get with an NBA team at this point, but for a player who has made hundreds of millions of dollars and has stated he only wants to play for one NBA team, do you really think that amount of money would entice him to play halfway across the world? I doubt it.
The terms of the deal aren’t known, I suppose they could offer him $20 million plus in year one to entice him to come which could get Wade’s attention, we will see.
Seeing Dwyane Wade end his professional basketball career playing in China wouldn’t feel right though.
