Beal Drops 51 in Wizards Upset Win in Portland

The Washington Wizards are surprising many with their solid play with star point guard John Wall sidelined.

They have gone 3-3 without Wall, including a 106-92 win in Portland on Tuesday night.

So what was the biggest reason they pulled off the upset on Tuesday night you say? Two words: Bradley Beal.

Beal set a new career high with 51 points as he dazzled throughout and went 21-for-37 from the field, a highly impressive 57% with that many shots, many of which were jump shots as well.

He has been proving himself as one of the premier shooting guards in the NBA this season (he is paid like one), averaging 23.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game for the Wizards.

Beal became the 3rd player in the NBA so far this season to drop the half-century mark in a game…

The Wizards are currently 13-11 and 7th in the eastern conference and are entering an easier part of their schedule with the Suns, Clippers, Nets and Grizzlies up next. They should also be getting Wall back by the end of the week.
