Wall to Miss At Least Two Weeks

John Wall is a member of the top five point guards in the NBA (in my opinion) that gets talked about the least.

He is a lightning quick guard with elite athleticism who pushes the paces and does almost everything at a high level at the position, averaging about 20 points, 10 assists and four rebounds on a yearly basis, not to mention around two steals.

He is the heart and soul of the Washington Wizards, and they will now be without him for at least two weeks.

The team announced over the weekend that Wall got a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment and a viscosupplementation injection in his left knee and will have to sit to let the injury recover.

To give you some perspective on what he means to the team, the Wizards are about 10.8 points worse per 100 possessions with Wall not on the floor. Wow.

The Wizards blew a first half lead and lost 108-105 to the Blazers at home in their first game without Wall and will play the T’Wolves in Minnesota on Tuesday night.

Wall has had a rough year on the injury front this season with a sprained ankle, strained shoulder and migraine headaches in addition to his knee issues. Sitting out a few weeks will enable him to heal up on all fronts but will be a tough pill to swallow as the Wizards will inevitably drop in the standings. They are currently sitting at 10-9 and in 7th place in the east.

Tim Frazier and Tomas Satoransky will take over the point guard position in his absence, which isn’t too comforting if you ask me.

Here’s to hoping Wall returns soon for the Wizards sake and for the sake of my fantasy basketball team, sorry couldn’t help myself.
