Kawhi Leonard Rushed Out of New Orleans After All-Star Game to Make Early Morning Workout

Are you ready for the most Kawhi Leonard anecdote ever?

It involves Kawhi, All-Star weekend and an early morning workout, so of course you are.

Here’s what Bleacher Report’s J.P. Abrams unearthed while working on a nicely penned feature about the mysterious character and rise of Mr. Leonard:

But if those around Leonard are short on stories of revelry (in fact, he jetted out of New Orleans to make a 6:15 a.m. workout the next day in San Diego), they can’t stop talking about the dedication and mindset that have allowed him to steadily grow and blossom through each of his six NBA seasons—from trade fodder to rotation player to starter, All-Star and MVP candidate.

This is some Kobe Bryant-level commitment right here. While everyone else was basking in the post-All-Star glow, perhaps reveling in the news that DeMarcus Cousins would be traded to the New Orleans Pelicans, the team from the city hosting All-Star weekend, Leonard was bouncing from the arena to make a morning workout that, at that time, would have been six hours away.

There are only three words to adequately describe such devotion: Wow, whoa and, as it pertains to Kawhi Leonard, typical. This story doesn’t shock us, because it’s him. If it were almost anyone else, with the exception of a few, we’d be caught off guard. Tales of rushing from New Orleans to catch flights would be followed by subsequent details of a tightly scheduled vacation.

Not Kawhi, though. Work, in all likelihood, is his vacation, and vacation his work.
