Growing Rift Between Kings, Afflalo

As you may have noticed over the past decade or so, the Sacramento Kings aren’t exactly operating at the San Antonio Spurs level when it comes to professionalism, organization and relations between the players and front office.

We all know about the constant DeMarcus Cousins saga and the fact that Rudy Gay has seemingly been on the trade block since the Hornets were still the Bobcats.

Add another name to the growing list of disgruntled Kings: Arron Afflalo.

Afflalo has seen his role diminish in recent weeks from a starter to out of the rotation completely. He even refused to enter the game against the Rockets last week according to Dave Carmichael of KHTK Sports 1140:

Afflalo took more money to join the Kings in the off-season after spending a season in New York and expected his role to increase, which hasn’t been the case thus far this season.

He hasn’t necessarily earned a large role on the court, averaging 7-2-2 on 40% shooting and 31% shooting from three-point range in 23.4 minutes per game.

We’ll see if he ends up being dealt or cut in the coming weeks.
