Coach Mike Budenholzer Got Taken Out By Galloway

Contrary to what some may think (only those who have never played competitive basketball) basketball can be a very physical sport. Banging bodies and fighting for leverage with some of the most chiseled and impressive athletes in the world night in and night out can and does take a toll on even the most durable of NBA players.

That sort of physical toll doesn’t typically exist for the well-dressed coaches who pace up and down the sideline, except for Atlanta Hawks Head Coach Mike Budenholzer apparently.

Budenholzer, already sporting a large cast on his right hand for a broken finger suffered that required surgery in the pre-season on Monday, was leveled by New Orleans Pelican guard Langston Galloway in the 2nd quarter of the Hawks preseason tilt with the Pelicans in Atlanta on Tuesday…

Budenholzer tried to tough it out but was noticeably in pain and left for the locker room a few minutes later. Early indications are that he may have broken a few ribs.

It’s been a tough week for the former NBA coach of the year, he can only hope his injuries aren’t a sign of what’s to come for the Hawks on the court this season.
