A number of teams unveiled some new alternate jerseys that they will be wearing on occasion during the 2016-17 season including the Grizzlies, 76ers and Nets.

All of which are paying homage to their franchise or territory’s history.

Here is the Brooklyn Remix Uniform that the Nets will wear for 12 games in the 2016-17 season:

The Philadelphia 76ers also decided to hearken back to their storied history by bringing back the 1966-67 jerseys to commemorate the 50th anniversary of their first NBA championship.

The 76ers will also unveil a specialty mid-court logo for six select “Salute Saturday” games during the 2016-17 season.

Last and possibly the coolest and most meaningful jersey to be unveiled on Wednesday was the Grizzlies alternate that they will wear to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. for their annual home game on MLK Day.

This jersey pays homage to one of the greatest activists of our time on the 50th anniversary of his tragic assassination. It is a really good looking jersey and a very cool and worthwhile idea by the Grizzlies.

The emblem beneath the color is that of the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis. Here is a closer look at the patch on the shorts:
