There is no question about it, everything Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry touches is worth a lot, even his mouthguard.

According to ESPN, Steph Curry’s mouthguard which was used in a game in December and has his name on it was up for auction yesterday. It was expected to sell for about $5,000, but only sold for $3,200. It’s no secret that people buy weird things when it comes to celebrities, but even this is a little much.

A Stephen Curry mouthguard found by a fan at a Golden State Warriors road game in December was sold for $3,190 on Sunday morning in an online auction.

California-based SCP Auctions handled the sale. In June, SCP vice president Dan Imler said he expected the mouthguard to sell for at least $5,000.

The mouthguard, which has Curry’s name on both it and the carrying case in which it was found, was one of several quirky items sold in the auction.

That wasn’t the only basketball-related item sold at the auction. A pair of Converse sneakers belonging to Dr. J sold for just over $8,500 and Dwyane Wade’s Final Four ring sold for just under $10,000.

Note to all you fans out there, keep your eyes open because one man’s trash could be another man’s treasure.
