All-NBA Teams Announced for 2015-16 Season

All-NBA Teams

After a long drawn out five-week process to name all of the NBA’s awards and honors for the 2015-16 regular season, the All-NBA teams has been announced.

The All-NBA 1st Team features league MVP Steph Curry, the guy who is outplaying him in the conference finals in Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Lenoard, LeBron James and DeAndre Jordan.

Here is a breakdown of all three All-NBA teams with the final voting results included:

Here are some interesting tidbits about the selections:

-James Harden was the NBA’s leading scorer and averaged 29-7-6 yet didn’t make a team after making All-NBA 1st Team in 2014-15.
-Curry was the only player to receive all 129 1st team votes
-DeAndre Jordan, Russell Westbrook and Kawhi Leonard are making their first All-NBA 1st Team appearances
-LeBron James makes his 10th 1st Team All-NBA appearance, 8 more than the rest of the 1st team combined
-Kawhi Leonard, Damian Lillard, Draymond Green, Andre Drummond and Kyle Lowry have made an All-NBA team for the 1st time. That is 33 percent of the three teams
-DeMarcus Cousins is the only player on any of the three teams to play on a team with a losing record
-Anthony Davis loses out on a $24 million incentive bonus in his new contract by not making an All-NBA team
-Andrew Bogut actually received 2 votes for an All-NBA team

The only glaring observation from this year’s list of All-NBA honors is the omission of Harden. It seems ludicrous but with the current format of only two guards per team, the only debatable players to replace him with would be Klay Thompson or Kyle Lowry. Lowry led the Raptors to 56 wins though and Thompson is a more efficient player and a key cog in a 73 win team.

Honestly I have no issue with the teams, there is always going to a be a guard snubbed in a league full of dynamic superstars in the back court.
