Timetable Revealed for Anthony Davis’ Return to Pelicans

timetable Anthony Davis
Anthony Davis will be back to playing basketball for the New Orleans Pelicans soon.

So long as you consider three to four months “soon.”

Davis is guaranteed to miss the rest of the New Orleans Pelicans’ dumpster fire of a season after undergoing surgery on his left knee. He is also dealing with a torn labrum, which he has apparently been playing with for a few years.

But while we were made fully aware of the problems, a timetable for Davis’ return to action was not initially provided. Now there is one.

Per The Undefeated’s Marc J. Spears:

About that shoulder…Here’s NBA.com’s Sekou Smith:

Last week the Pelicans shut Anthony Davis down for the remainder of this season after it was determined that needed knee and shoulder surgery. After further evaluation, however, it has since been determined that Davis does not need shoulder surgery.

I’m no doctor, but the thought of Davis not having surgery on something that’s bothered him for years scares the crap out of me. He is only 23 years old, with his entire career ahead of him. Hopefully this is the right decision.

In the meantime, the Pelicans will lose. A lot. Maybe all the time. And that’s good at this point. They have a chance to enter this summer with top-five lottery odds, and the sooner they can add a potential high-impact player via the draft to pair with Davis, the better.
