As if the Spurs need anymore quality veteran leadership in their locker room, the team is set to sign PG Andre Miller for the rest of the season. Miller has never been confused with being a superstar, he has been a very solid point man throughout his career.

Miller was most recently with the very young Timberwolves, and reached a buyout agreement with them last week. Truthfully, him with the Spurs just feels like it makes more sense than Minnesota. How much he’ll actually play is another story, because you never can tell with Pop.

Free-agent guard Andre Miller has reached an agreement to sign with the San Antonio Spurs for the remainder of the season, league sources told The Vertical.

Miller cleared waivers on Saturday after reaching a contract buyout with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Once Miller passes his physical, the Spurs will waive guard Ray McCallum, league sources said. The Spurs acquired McCallum in an offseason trade with Sacramento.

Miller, 39, will be eligible for the playoffs because his buyout was completed before the March 1 deadline for waived players.
