LeBron James is on record as being “emotional” when he really sits and realizes that this is Kobe Bryant’s final season. In fact, they embraced for a while after they played one another on Wednesday night, and Kobe gave LeBron a signed pair of his game-worn sneakers.

LeBron’s admiration for Kobe goes beyond. It reportedly impacts his Olympic plans. Kobe does not plan to pursue a spot on this year’s Olympic roster and therefore, neither is LeBron.

Bryant not pursuing a spot on the U.S. Olympic basketball team this summer is a very real reason James might also not join the team, according to NBA sources.

James is that disappointed the Rio Olympics will not serve as the final, ultimate celebration of Bryant’s career—and more so that James won’t have the priceless honor of being Bryant’s co-star teammate when it ends.
