Gregg Popovich Trolls Hard Again, This Time at Expense of Blake Griffin, Clippers

Popovich
I have something I must get off my chest.

I love you, Gregg Popovich.

You’d probably hate me, most definitely humiliate me for sport if we ever met, but I love you, and you’re awesome.

Allow me to catch you up. Popovich first trolled the Cleveland Cavaliers’ decision to fire head coach David Blatt after his San Antonio Spurs suffered a 30-point loss at the hands of the Warriors. Now he’s taking shots at Blake Griffin and Los Angeles Clippers.

Here’s what he said ahead of the Spurs’ Wednesday night bout with the Houston Rockets, per the San Antonio Express-News’ Jeff McDonald and Tom Osborn:

Yes, yes, yes, yes.

Griffin, of course, will miss at least the next four to six weeks due to a fractured right hand he suffered while punching one of the Clippers’ assistant equipment managers. The incident transpired at a bar, hence Popovich’s zinger.

Pop will be coaching the Western Conference’s All-Star team, and while Griffin won’t be participating, Chris Paul almost assuredly will. So maybe he’ll have some words with Pop, or maybe Pop will make fun of his nickname and the Clippers’ incurable case of mediocrity.

Actually, knowing Pop, it probably won’t be awkward. Everything he does and says these days is awesome—even, I presume, to those at whom he’s firing shots.
