Wolves Offer Max Contract To Eric Bledsoe

ericwolvesJust when you thought that free agency fever has already concluded, the Minnesota Timberwolves have reportedly offered a four-year, $63 million dollar max contract to Phoenix Suns’ guard Eric Bledsoe, according to ESPN.com’s Brian Windhorst.

This maximum contract is what Bledsoe has been waiting for this entire off-season; however, the only way for this deal to happen is through a sign-and-trade due to cap restrictions. We all know that he and the Suns have been at a huge impasse after declining the four-year, $48 million dollar offer back in July. Furthermore, there had been several rumors regarding a Kevin Love trade that would involve him but never really came to fruition. Yet, here we are again and the 24-year-old guard may be getting his way.

Despite Bledsoe’s overflowing potential to become an all-star type of player—we cannot set aside his vulnerabilities to injuries which has greatly affected his continuous growth. He only managed to play 43 games last season for the Suns. It really is risky move for the Wolves and any team to offer a maximum contract to an injury-prone guard, but with proper care and training of the body—it may not be a problem after all.

With the Wolves newest franchise player, Andrew Wiggins—they believe that Bledsoe would be a great complement to their team and a key piece to quicken their rebuilding process. If ever this deal becomes a reality—a lot of people will certainly have their eyes on this young and promising team this coming season.

Bledsoe tallied 17.7 points and 5.5 assists for the Suns last season.
