Pelicans’ guard Tyreke Evans will be out 3-5 weeks due to hamstring injury

evanspelicanslAnother day, another injury—as the New Orleans Pelicans have announced today that their five-year veteran guard Tyreke Evans will be expected to miss 3-5 weeks with a strained right hamstring.

He suffered the injury last week while playing pickup basketball somewhere out of town, according to GM Dell Demps

New Orleans will definitely need Evans at a 100 percent to make a strong run for the playoffs this season. His speed and ability to penetrate the cup with ease has proven to be a formidable offensive threat. Plus, together with rising star Anthony Davis–the future looks very promising.

The 25-year-old guard averaged solid numbers with 14.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 28.2 minutes of playing time last season.

Let’s all hope he recovers soon enough to make it for their season-opener.
