Andray Blatche Headed To China

092014_blatcheAfter having dominant performance of 21.2 points and 13.8 rebounds in the recently concluded 2014 FIBA World Cup, free agent center Andray Blatch has expectedly received interest from a Chinese team.

The former Brooklyn Nets center has accepted a one-year, $2.5 million deal with the Xinjiang Guanghui Flying Tigers of the Chinese Basketball League, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

Blatche, who recently turned 28 last month, has failed to reach a deal from any NBA teams this off-season, which is most probably why he accepted this deal in China. But he won’t be alone in the team as veteran guard Jordan Crawford will be playing alongside him, and together they shall try to lead the Flying Tigers to a championship in the upcoming season.

Last season, Blatche was very productive off the bench for the Nets as he averaged 11.2 points and 5.3 rebound in 73 games.
