In a press conference held in Washington DC and streamed live through an online simulcast, Ahmad Rashad sat down with the reigning NBA MVP Kevin Durant and sneaker designer Leo Chang to officially introduce the Nike KD 7.
While we brought you an early look at two colorways already, it was good to get a comprehensive breakdown of what might be Durant’s best constructed signature sneaker to date.
Made with a combination of mesh textiles in the front and Hyperposite (evolution of the popular Foamposite material) molding in the heel, the Nike KD7 uses two different Zoom Air capsules for cushioning; an encapsulated Zoom bag in the forefoot and a exposed 180 Zoom bag underneath the heel. The seventh sneaker in the Durant’s signature line returns to its origins, featuring a strap; something left out of KD’s last two models from the previous corresponding NBA seasons.
The Nike KD 7 debuts in stores on June 26th for $150.
