Tim Duncan Wanted to Rap on Stephen Jackson’s Album

For any of you Spurs fans reading the site you’ll be intimately aware of the fact that Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich and star player Tim Duncan both have a dry, sarcastic sense of humor. I’m assuming Timmy D was being sarcastic when he told reporters that he was offended teammate Stephen Jackson wouldn’t let him rap on his newly released hip hop single….

MC T.D.: The release of Stephen Jackson’s rap album “Jack of All Trades” — originally scheduled for Tuesday — has been delayed for promotional purposes, the Spurs forward said.

Instead, Jackson has released a single, titled “Lonely at the Top,” for download on iTunes. The track features vocals from one of the Spurs’ biggest rivals, Oklahoma City scoring champion Kevin Durant.

One of Jackson’s teammates is none too happy about the pairing.

“I asked him if I could rap a little on his album, and he told me no, straight out,” Duncan said. “I was very offended. He’s never even heard me rap. He doesn’t know what I could do.”(via)

Maybe Duncan will get so offended he will go ahead and release his own album? I’d buy it….
