Marvin Williams Traded for Devin Harris

Danny Ferry has barely been GM of the Atlanta Hawks for a few weeks and has already shaken up the franchise. Yesterday, not only did he shock the basketball world by trading Joe Johnson and his salary, but he also was able to move Marvin Williams. The Hawks should have a ton of cap space to play with.

Just hours after the Hawks traded guard Joe Johnson to the Nets, Atlanta has traded forward Marvin Williams, the No. 2 pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, to Utah in exchange for point guardDevin Harris, a person with knowledge of the deal told USA TODAY Sports.

In making these moves, Ferry has given the Hawks some wiggle-room financially. Johnson was set to make $89 million over the next four seasons, while Williams signed a five-year deal back in 2009, worth more than $37 million.
