Rudy Gay Picks Up Where He Left Off

September 21, 2011 – Kevin Burke

Back in January, the Grizzlies Rudy Gay sustained an injury to his left, non-shooting shoulder. It was so serious that it caused him to miss the rest of the season. Little did he, or anyone else, know that the Grizzlies were about to take off on a magical run in the post-season. The surprising Grizzlies came to within one game of the Western Conference Finals, as they lost to the Thunder in seven games. You can’t help but wonder if they would’ve gotten by the Thunder if they had a health Gay, or if they would’ve made the Mavericks sweat in the WCF.

Two days ago, Rudy was finally medically cleared to play after sitting out for eight months. He decided to waste no time. The very next day (yesterday), he took part in the Impact Basketball “Lockout League” in Vegas. I like to see that. It shows that he was itching to get back on the court. He’s probably one of the rawest athletes in the NBA and he didn’t waste much time. And judging by highlights from yesterday’s action, he picked up right where he left off. Check out some clips of his play from yesterday. He’s the last player featured in this video from ballislife.com and looks like the same ol’ Rudy.
