Is Tyreke Evans’ Half-Court Game Winner the Shot of the Year?

January 3, 2011 – Kevin Burke

Is it me or does defending Rookie of the Year and “Mr. 20, 5, and 5”, Tyreke Evans get somewhat overlooked? When people mention the best young guards in the league, his name will get mentioned, but it’s not until after a handful of names are rattled off already. Perhaps it’s because he plays for the Kings who were 25 – 57 last season and so far this year they’re 6 – 23. But Tyreke is having a solid sophomore campaign, averaging 17, 5 and 5.

The other night, the Kings hosted the Memphis Grizzlies and Tyreke hit a shot that should help get him the love he deserves. It definitely should have been in our Top 10 plays of the week but missed the deadline by one day for the video edit. Check out this game winning half-court buzzer beater by Tyreke. Please join me in giving this man his due, and let us know if you think this is the play of the year:
